From the moment I spotted the tiny Lancome lipstick “soldiers” I knew this was a wonderful spot to be on a rainy, dreary Sunday in New York. Ryan Urcia and Kristina Ratcliff of State PR graciously invited PAPER to the Makeup Show NYC at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Anyone who has seen the stupendous, mind-boggling works of David LaChapelle will have to agree that there is a whole lot of makeup going on and the wizard that is responsible is David’s muse Sharon Gault. She and choreographer Johnny Byrne stopped to pose and told me that David was vacationing in Hawaii after just finishing a groundbreaking ad for J.C. Penney (I hope that isn't a secret!).
