L.A. Woman on American Dad!
By Ann Magnuson
I didn't want to mention this until I knew fer shurrrr it was going to happen but I've been told that the first episode of "American Dad" that I did a voice for is going to air this Sunday, May 6th at 9:30 p.m.! Look and, more importantly, LISTEN for the character of "Lisa Collins," a very lusty next-door neighbor to Stan and family. If you haven't seen American Dad you MUST tune in! From the creators of Family Guy, American Dad is one of the most subversive shows on television! The American Dad in question is Stan Smith who works for the CIA and what the writer/producers get away with is astonishing! Even more so considering the show is on FOX! When I asked them how they manage to slip past conservative ire they told me some of the biggest fans of the shows are far right-wingers! Like the animated series " The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, which could simultaneously play on both a child and adult level, American Dad has its Republican red-state cake and eats it too... with a bright blue liberal fork!
I am so in love with Roger the Alien! In fact, I suggested to the producers that they let Lisa Collins chase after Roger! ("Look, he's completely nude! Francine, you're holding out on me here! I didn't know you and Stan swung!") They liked the idea. OMG, I could die happy! Nothing like sex with an animated character! (Although with that Paul Lynde voice I doubt Roger is gonna go for Lisa! Hmmmm...I wonder if Brian, the dog from Family Guy is available? I know it's insane, but I find that dog VERY alluring!)
OMG! OMG! OMG! Did anyone see the episode where Roger and Steve, Stan's nerdy son, go to NYC and Roger impersonates Andy Warhol? And then the two of them morph into Joe Buck and Ratso Rizzo from Midnight Cowboy? Not only was it one of the most delicious indictments of Manhattan-based narcissism, it was one of the funniest thing I've ever seen. Especially when that whole thread was woven into another subplot involving squirrels re-enacting scenes from What's Eating Gilbert Grape?!!!! The writers on this show are sick, twisted and deserve a truckload of Emmys! (Watch clips from the episode below -- too bad they didn't include any of the Roger-as-Andy stuff!)
For more info, go to the official American Dad website.
ALL-NEW episode of American Dad on Sunday 9:30/8:30c! - "I Can’t Stan You" - Stan and Francine eavesdrop hear what the neighbors truly think of them. Horrified, they do the best they can to change their ways. Meanwhile Roger convinces Steve to join him in scamming store owners out of money by purposefully hurting themselves, until Steve pulls the final scam against Roger.
P.S. I haven't even seen a drawing of Lisa Collins so it's gonna be a big suprise for me! God, I hope she's hot!

I will be tuned in! I also wonder how family guy as well as this show get away with the adult content as well as the outright digs at named celebs without getting sued. It's got to be because they are cartoons and they arent being scanned like everything else, especially on Rupert's watch. I love it, Stewey is the bomb, he can say crap we are thinking but could never get away with. I dont get how a right winger would like it, unless whatever brain damage occurred to make them so bent dulls them to what is really going on in the cartoon world too. Maybe they just look at the screen and think, 'ooh pretty colors'.
