but...

thats eww. She should totally cover that up. Being fat is not ok. It is unhealthy. It should not be encouraged. Overweight, I can live with, but obesity is a killer. 60% of americans are overweight and each year, hundreds die of obesity (that's including children).

I dont believe that the world should be stick thin. But it also should not be super heavy.

I think Beth Ditto looks extremely HOT! A few centuries back she would have been the perfect shape for a woman. Women are supposed to have exaggerated curves, it's completely natural, beautiful, and extremely sexy!

I love how shes made it obv curves ARE sexy. If she wants to get naked on covers thats up to her.
I think shes an inspiration to everyone not too get pushed into trends and size 0, cos big is beautiful. And to top it all shes an amazing singer.

Beth Ditto's body is disgusting. A few hundred years ago she may have been the epitome of beauty but today, with food being cheap and abudant in western society, and obesity rates rampant, she represents everything that is vile and repugnant about our culture. Excess, greed, gluttony, sloth. I don't care about her health, it's aesthetically that she offends me. Please, cover it up. You're gross.

Really? Yet I'm sure if any of them could push a button to transform them into someone permanently slim, they would.

Yes, self confidence is a wonderful thing. But there's treading a fine line between self confidence, and delusion. It's comforting to see this -deformity- as a positive thing, yet ignoring the real issues. It probably won't seem so cool when the stretch marks, scars, lesions, breathing and heart problems kick in. As well as the early grave.

And yes I do find her aesthetically disgusting, and a symbol of all that's wrong with modern society. ALong with the glorification of idiots such as Winehouse and Docherty. Though I don't want to start sounding too much like John Doe from Se7en, so I'll end it here ;-)

I am not a huge fan of her music, but what she is is Beautiful with a capital Bee. I just wish she was at least bi, then I would have a chance with her lol. Both me and my girlfriend both agree that she is probably the only woman alive with genuine sex appeal. And I'm not on about those women who are "pretty", like Pamela Anderson or Kate Moss. I am on about the kind of woman who oozes sex appeal, like Marilyn Monroe. Yes I would put Beth Ditto in the same league as Marilyn Monroe.

I'm okay with the size (to an extent) and the fact that she's naked and is confident with herself, and airbrushing is fine, afterall we all want to look our best... but urghh the buck stops at armpit hair!!! That's vile. I think the airbrush person didn't wanna go there, and I can't blame them.

I love how so many people are going "Eww, fat girl naked. Nobody wants to see fat people naked..." Shut the hell up please. Beauty comes in different forms, meaning that skinny women aren't the only women who are beautiful dahlings.

And as for the comment about confidence, I'm 210, and if given the chance to be skinny, I'd turn it down no questions asked. I did the whole feeling bad about being big and anorexia bullshit. I didn't FEEL GOOD getting those compliments about how skinny I was. At my size now, I am loving every part of me.

For every one big woman who is ever placed in a positive light, there are ten who are put down by the media. Apparently fat people can't be happy in their own bodies, and they just CAN'T be healthy, right? Cuz only skinny people get clean bills of health? FUCK THAT SHIT.

Now the armpit hair has to go. For reals. I mean if they were airbrushing everything else, why not the hair?

I'm sorry, but this woman is RAD. Obesity and arm pit hair aside- her confidence is beautiful and I think it's wonderful that she isn't afraid to do whatever the fuck she wants. It isn't easy for everyone to be skinny, you know. Or even chubby. Some women would have to work their asses off constantly on top of every other mundane thing they have to do just in order to please YOU PEOPLE?! Give me a fucking break. Life is how you live it, and that, friends, should be in whatever way you damn well please. We could all be blown to smithereens tomorrow- shut the hell up and have some fun. I love you, Beth!
