Socialites on Parade -- Genevieve Jones

Genevieve Jones is a socialite that has caused a teensy bit of a stir. Some people claim she emerged from nowhere (as opposed to the traditional stars of the social pages who are groomed from birth, MM supposes) but MM has one thing to say to that. 'Welcome to NYC bitches!' Mr Mickey's policy is this: if you're fun, throw together stylish looks and make parties fun, climb aboard the party train!! Part of the reason NYC is so fabulous is that people can come from anywhere and reinvent themselves or make themselves into stars.
And MM feels he must also say that we've got lots of fabulous pale-complected blondes on the scene and a little diversity is very, very welcome from where MM stands.
Meanwhile here is a delicious shot of Genevieve with filmmaker/scenestealer Paz de la Huerta on her lap. What a double-whammy of fun.

I want to move to NewYOrk ....but its damn expensivE.Everyone says how its not the samE;but I kinda like it that the streets are semi safe....and if I moved there I would want to live in Manhattan where everything happens.I know or HEAR that is that Brooklyn is where its at but I have been to Brooklyn and it did not seem all that.Should I have gone there instead of hollywood 5 years ago ..? who can say...I want to be bi-coastal one day so I like others can complain about Newyork not being the same......now Silverlake is suppose to be like Newyork or an L.A. version ...maybe but Silverlake is basically one block and from what I heard everything happened in the 90s ( like everything else ) ....I like it thoUgh and its probably better than Hollywood ....still I like to pretend I am living in my favorite Woody Allen filmS at times or that I had Alvy Singers lifestyle...(its still possible ).....It would be fun sitting at Dorothy Parkers algonquin round table or at least todays equivelant.

Who cares if Genevieve Jones has appeared from nowhere, she's here now and she's hot. Why the controversey? MM you are so right on by whatyou said. Only in NYC can a nobody become a big somebody. The girl looks like such a cutie and she wears such great clothes. She ain't stick stick thin like some of these other socio lite waifes and she always has a great smile. Long may she reign.

I guess the controversy is that she is not a groomed poodle but a guppy put into the prefabricated goldfish boWL.Heh that should happen more often....its great when thing get stirred up.
