Best 90's Rediscovery Of 2006
By Shanon Kelley
I've said this many times before but the 90s college indie/alternative rock "movement" (if you will) is by far my favorite musical genre. And thanks to the miracle of youtube I've been able to search the megaverse in the hopes of finding old gems from the late 80s/early 90s. My favorite rediscovery of 2006 was by far Ned's Atomic Dustbin. Thanks to an anonymous tipster who brought this to my attention, I have been able to relive my adolescent years when I first took music seriously. Bands like the Flaming Lips, Butthole Surfers and anything off of the "So I Married An Axe Murderer" soundtrack were among my favorites, as was Ned's Atomic Dustbin. Here's their video for Grey Cell Green, it's so 90s!

The 90s rocked ...everything seemed like it was going in a good motion with art...music and film...then something happened ...theres good stuff but it all sort of fell apart as well.

Remember 120 minutes....when you could catch a Bahaus or siouxsie and the banshees video....NightFlight was another gooD show that had great music on it.
