Yesterday avant sportswear line Telfar took over the New Museum for a runway show-cum-multimedia art installation, showcasing Snuggie-style coats, belted jackets, trousers and slouchy boots (whose shape bore more than a passing resemblance to Uggs) in cozy fabrics like micro-suede, flannel and polar fleece. On the ground floor of the museum and away from the show, guests were treated to an installation produced by Telfar, KmartFashion (of all things), and artists Chloe Wise and Jeanette Hayes. The installation featured a video by Wise and Hayes and a pop-up store where guests could browse sweatshirts, bags, #KnowNewTrends beanies and even miniature figurines of the models. Looking out at the crowd and taking it all in was a life-size doll of the label's designer, Telfar Clemens. Scroll down to see backstage photos from the show, shot by Paper's Rebecca Smeyne.
