Art Crawl: Tony Cox
By STEFAN MAROLACHAKIS
Photographed by Curtis Kulig

WHO: Tony Cox
WHAT HE DOES: Unhinged, embroidered assemblages that are made
from a pastiche of knick-knacks -- like toothpicks, bottle caps
and cigarette cartons.
HOW IT HAPPENED: "The medium chose me rather than me
choosing it," he says, "minus the sewing aspect, which came
from my grandmother and childhood friend Matthew Ronay."
NEXT UP: "White Trash Mystic" is on view at 211 Elizabeth St.,
and he'll be curating a show with Derrick Snodgrass and
Joe Roberts in January at Fuse Gallery, where his photos can
also be seen in March.
