Into Me/Out of Me

INTO ME/OUT OF ME

Before you enjoy P.S.1's outsized outdoor patio during their deservedly acclaimed "Warm Up" DJ series on a balmy Saturday afternoon (deemed one of the 20 hottest beach parties in the world by the U.K.'s Observer), why not actually go into the museum to check out "Into Me/Out of Me," a show about imagined and actual acts of passing into, out of and through the human body? Intrigued yet? This exhibition deals with the various facets of metabolism, reproduction and violence. Witness the wet and the dry, the inner and the outer and the relationship between the human body and the rest of society as brought to us by artists including Paul McCarthy, Matthew Barney, Ana Mendieta and Carolee Schneeman. Then go get yourself a beer, head outside and dance.

P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, 22-25 Jackson Ave., Queens, (718) 784-2084. June 25–Sept. 25.
