In honor of International Jazz Day, the White House hosted an all-star event featuring Aretha Franklin, Esperanza Spalding, Sting, Herbie Hancock and many other artists. President Barack Obama and the White House celebrated the day with a mix of classic jazz icons and contemporary jazz performers during the 90 minute concert. To honor the late Prince, the soulful Franklin sang her own rendition of the Purple One's "Purple Rain" at the 74 minute mark.
