UPDATE: The NFL and Pepsi are both saying no one ever asked Adele to perform.
The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time.
Adele Blue Atkins, phenom siren birthed in the sonic cosmos, has confirmed that there is no way in Hell she'd ever sing in the Super Bowl Half-Time show, while managing to shade (in a merry, Adele way) everyone who's done so.
During her eight night residency at Los Angeles' Staples Center, the singer told the crowd that she was approached to perform:
First of all, I'm not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don't really — I can't dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no.
She added, "Maybe next time in my next life."
Right as she said that, "Katy Perry popped her head out of the maple syrup-glazed and glitter-sprinkled conch shell she sleeps in, gasping.
Lol. Go off, Adele!
