Acne Presents Its First-Ever Runway Show In London

Alyssa Vingan

As exhausted as we were at the end of New York Fashion Week, seeing all of the incredible collections coming out of London over the past few days has made us a little bit bummed that we aren't there. One of said collections came from Acne, which hosted its very first runway show on Sunday at London's Kensington Palace. The models walked through the former apartment of Lord Snowdon and Princess Margaret. Jonny Johansson, the founder of the Swedish brand, thought this location could create the perfect mix of uptown "Englishness" and the downtown, "Central Saint Martins" spirit that he's always loved. There was a theme of toughness throughout: A stunning studded leather jacket and vest, shoes whose soles resembled bricks, and, in keeping with the current trend, a number of the leather pieces were embossed with Polynesian-inspired "tattoos". Click through for our favorite pieces from Acne's Spring 2011 look book, and we'll be sure to keep you posted on our favorite looks from London Fashion Week as they come in!
