A Sneak Peek at RxArt's Arty Coloring Book + What's For Auction at Their Gala Tomorrow Night

Yasha Wallin

We've never been ones to act age appropriate. That's why we were excited to hear about
the new children's coloring book, Between the Lines, created on behalf of the non-profit RxArt. In the book, the third in a series featuring original drawings by contemporary artists, you can
scribble in and out of the lines of Shepard Fairey's peace sign, Josh Smith's dinosaurs or connect the dots on Mr. Brainwash's face. As an extension of RxArt's mission, which is dedicated placing fine art in the often-sterile environment of a hospital to inspire hope, the coloring book is meant to take children to an emotionally less stressful place, by giving them a creative outlet while confined to a hospital bed.

The book will be available tomorrow night, as part of RxArt's 11th anniversary gala and fundraising auction, where work by some of our favorite artists like Ed Templeton, James Franco, Yoko Ono and Miranda July will also be for sale, with all proceeds benefiting the organization. With Chanel Beauté as a partner for the evening, and chairs Jennifer Brill, Poppy Delevinge, Leigh Lezark, Caroline Sieber and Vanessa Traina, it's guaranteed to be a fun time in support of a good cause and of course...an excuse to awaken your inner child. Tickets available here.
