PAPER
on the front lines of cultural chaos since 1984.

It's been quite the week for one of our favorite new garage rock bands, Drowners: their self-titled debut album came out last Tuesday, they played a sold-out show at Bowery Ballroom on Friday (which apparently included stage crashing by model Ashley Smith) and they released a new music video yesterday. Whew. Of that video, which accompanies their guitar-heavy rock song "A Button On Your Blouse," we get a split-screen: the band appears on one side, led by frontman Matthew Hitt singing the track while candid shots of the foursome hanging out with their (very attractive) friends appear on the other.

While girls take their tops off and couples make out, Hitt beseeches, "Why don't you just come around / and undo another button on your blouse / these days, you know, I rarely leave the house / and I hate the thought of you / I hate the thought of you missing out."

We're there.
