Where do you live?
What do you do (profession or school)?
I'm the economist, but doing music.
What bands or DJs native to Russia are you obsessed with right now?
Old soviet singers like Muslim Magomaev and Alla Pugacheva plus soviet post-punk bands like Zvuki Mu and Kino. Magomaev and Pugacheva have retro sound with cool melodies like Lee Hazlewood. Post-punk bands sound like 80's Manchester or New York bands.
How did you discover them?
With the help of my parents.
How would you describe Rostov on-Don to someone who hasn't been there?
Full of cars, busy, dirty, but with beautiful girls. It's not so busy as Moscow and not so depressing as St. Petersburg. Rostov is the best place for living and dying.
What is the music scene like in Rostov-on-Don?
We have lots of hip-hop artists, mostly shitty. Several indie bands singing in English, Ritmika is a good one.
Where are the cool places to see live music in Rostov-on-Don?
We have no places, maybe only one club where it's possible to play and see live shows, but mostly with hardcore or metal bands.
What do you like to do on the weekends?
Drinking with friends or watching You Tube videos or sleeping all day. There's nothing else to do on the weekends. A lot of free time.
What's your favorite bar/nightclub?
In Rostov we have no good places at the moment, at the same time Moscow guys have Strelka bar, Solyanka club for parties and gigs, several big clubs for concerts and a bunch of different small bars with interestingevents every weekend. Moscow is more interesting in this case.
What's a bar or nightclub you would NEVER go to in Rostov-on-Don?
I can try every place, but rather not go to the places with arty pretentious people inside.
