PAPER
on the front lines of cultural chaos since 1984.

Turns out the video for our favorite new feminist jam -- forward-thinking pop group HEARTSREVOLUTION's song "$EX" -- was made all the way back in 2009, but had to be kept under wraps until this very moment. Thankfully the video is having its long-overdue debut here on PAPERMAG. If you experience a little bit of déjà vu while watching it, that's probably because Vanessa Hudgens and Y-LA sampled the track and made their own '90s-tinged, Spring Breakers-esque video called...wait for it..."$$$EX." While the Hudgens' version explores a tripped-out club scene, HEARTSREV told us that the original version "is about the daily objectification of women and girls and that moment of taking your power back. When the girls in the video stand up for themselves they are given Lo's signature neon pink eye mask." Accordingly, the video finds JD Samson, French actress Joséphine de La Baume, model/DJ Harley Viera-Newton and a slew of other women -- and tweens -- sticking it to men that don't respect them and having lots of flirty, face-licking fun. Watch above and wear your neon pink eye mask with pride.
