Have you ever wondered what Wham!'s "Last Christmas" would sound like as a woozy, emotion-laden ballad instead of a (lovably) cornball 80s synth pop jam? No, you've never wondered about that, you say? Well, now that we've piqued your interest, listen to a cover of the holiday classic by The xx, recorded during a session at BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge. Whereas George Michael's version makes us want to dance in our tube socks around the Christmas tree, Jamie xx's makes us want to cry into a big mug of hot chocolate -- both equally acceptable emotional responses to have any time of the year, if you ask us. Anyway, listen to the song below and, while you're at it, watch the music video for the original -- other than the whole heartbreak thing, George Michael looks like he's having a pretty damn good time spending the holidays partying in a chalet with a dozen friends.
