Word of Mouth

Major Lazer's sophomore album might not be out 'til November 6th but in the meantime, we can get our dancehall fix with their latest video, "Get Free," which features vocals by Amber Coffman of The Dirty Projectors (read our recent interview with Coffman HERE).  With brief cameos by Coffman and Diplo, this SoMe-directed clip shot in Jamaica accompanies a melodic, tropicalia-tinged track -- a twerk-friendly banger like "Pon De Floor," this is not.  That said, there's still plenty of booty shaking and synchronized dance moves from local crews along with party scenes, horse racing and a boxing match.  It's also worth mentioning that the footage gives viewers a cool glimpse of all of the diverse groups of people and cultures found in Jamaica -- including members of its sizable Chinese-Jamaican population (there's also a large Indian-Jamaican population, too) -- something that often gets overlooked.  Watch "Get Free" above.

Free the Universe is out November 6 via Mad Decent/Downtown.
