Woo, 4th of July is nearly here! Below, our guide to all of the super-fun goings on around town tonight and tomorrow. Party in the U.S.A.

S.A.S.S x Public Assembly.jpg
History, Remixed at Public Assembly, 7/3 at 7 p.m.
Be the most well-informed little patriot around on July 4th after heading to Public Assembly on Independence Day Eve for a lecture party (or party lecture?) hosted by S.A.S.S. -- the Society for the Advancement of Social Studies.  There'll be games, special guests and drink specials all related to the theme of "Party & Bullshit in the U.S.A."  A shindig based on a Miley Cyrus/Notorious B.I.G. remix?  We like it. Screen shot 2012-07-03 at 2.47.33 PM.pngAmerica F*ck Yeah at The Bell House, 7/3, 8 p.m.
Who wouldn't want to go to America F*ck Yeah, a patriotically-themed burlesque show, where you get free admission if you're wearing a Wonder Woman outfit? Don't fret if you don't have one handy --  everyone else can still enjoy the Urban Rustic barbecue, drink specials and the talents of the Wasabassco ladies
.

Macysfireworks.jpgMacy's 4th of July Fireworks at Hudson River, 7/4, 9 p.m.
For all of us who still get that thrill out of seeing a beautiful display of fireworks -- and don't we all? -- there's still no beating the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks. Folks on rooftops and high-up apartments will want to face the Hudson River and let the beautiful pyrotechnic show take over the sky.  Katy Perry and Kenny Chesney will be the night's (human) entertainment. The best part? It's completely and totally free for everyone. [via Macy's]

Screen shot 2012-07-03 at 3.02.24 PM.pngInaugural Crif Dog Classic at Roberta's, 7/4, 11am
It was about time New York's new favorite hot dog joint, Crif Dogs, had a major eating contest. World champ Takeru Kobayashi (who's currently banned from Nathan's competition) will be among those vying for a $25,000 prize, plus there will be dogs from the CriCriff food truck and personal-sized pizzas from Roberta's for those of us who like to eat at a nice, normal pace. Drinks and live music too! [via Time Out]

JULY-4th-INVITE-7_1.png4th of July at King & Grove, 7/4, 12 p.m.-7 p.m.
For $65, you can avoid the crush of barbecuers in McCarren Park and live the high life at the 4th of July Party at King & Grove. Guests at the all-day pool party (stretching from noon to 7pm) will also reap the benefits of an afternoon barbecue, performances by
synchronized swimmers The Brooklyn Peaches, and DJ Roofeeo of TV On the Radio. (RSVP to kgw.pool@kingandgrove.com for tickets.)

LeBainxTheHolexJuly4.pngLe Bain x The Hole Party, 7/4, 2 p.m.-4 a.m.
Arguably one of the best spots to catch the fireworks, Le Bain at The Standard Hotel will be joining forces with The Hole gallery to throw an all-day soiree, followed by an after party.  Been dying to show off your stars and stripes Jeremy Scott x Adidas bikini? Here's your chance. [via Facebook]

SkyRoomxJuly4.jpgFireworks at the Sky Room, 7/4, 6 p.m.- 11 p.m.
Head to the Sky Room or the "highest rooftop bar in the city" to catch all of the fireworks action where, for a cool $100, you can be treated to a 5-hour open bar and a picnic buffet. [via Gothamist]

Brooklynites can get in on the action too with a boat party courtesy of beverage triumvirate, Brooklyn Brewery, NY Distilling Company and Brooklyn Roasting Company.  There'll be lots of beer, lots of cocktails courtesy of the Sea Shanty (the sea-faring version of popular bar The Shanty), and lots of cold brew coffee and coffee ice cream affogatos along with sausages, watermelon, slaw and more to soak up all that liquid.

joey-chestnut.jpgNathan's Hot Eating Contest, 7/4, 11:30 a.m.
New York's most famous hot dog-devouring Independence Day event is still running strong. Unfortunately for all of us late-risers, the women's contest still starts at 11:30 a.m. and the men's at noon, but oh boy is it worth it to watch all of that gluttony! Then feel free to tour around Coney Island, get some beer, and languish on the beach like any proud American should. [via Nathan's Famous]

hudsonterracexJuly4.jpgHudson Terrace Party, 7/4, 6:30 p.m.- 2 a.m.
The Hudson Terrace, conveniently situated just north of the West Side Hwy, will also be hosting a bash of its own where you can catch the fireworks after partaking from a 4-hour open bar and a BBQ buffet.  Tickets are $135/person. [via Gothamist]

lobster-boil-beauty.jpg
Dream Downtown Lobster Boil, 7/4, 6 p.m.
Forget the ambiguously described "BBQ buffets" and head to the Dream Downtown for a good ole' fashioned lobster boil featuring 1 1/4 lb lobsters, Long Island Steamers, Andouille sausage, red bliss potatoes, sweet corn and corn bread while you watch the fireworks. And, for only $32, it's a downright steal (especially at the notoriously swish hotel). [via Gothamist]

Secret Project Robot Fourth of July Independence Dance -- Sounds of Jamaica, 7/4, 3 p.m.-9 p.m.
Head to the Bushwick gallery and garden space for an all-day party featuring vinyl jams courtesy of Queen Majesty, Grace of Spades and Sweet V.  Food and booze will be on-hand and for only $4, it's probably the cheapest (and one of the most fun) options around. [via Facebook]

Fireworks Watching at the Wythe Hotel, 7/4, Fireworks O'Clock
Please note -- there's not a party or particular 4th of July event here per se, but with gorgeous views of the city from Wythe hotel bar The Ides, this spot is the perfect place to watch fireworks over the city skyline with a cocktail in hand. [TheIdes]
