Word of Mouth
As mentioned in today's Style Scraps, the Seattle Seahawks recently asked Nike to spruce up their uniforms, and the re-vamped uniforms are in a deep navy, with accents of neon green designed in part to look like feathers. How fun and festive, boys! The new uniforms got a surprising amount of press from all sides: from the Seattle Times praising them as "next generation stuff" and the the LA Times quipping, "Ok, it's not that bad," to Paul Lukas of Uni Watch writing: "Complete overhaul. Too much to deal with here."

So in honor of the Seahawks' new looks (and our enduring '90s nostalgia), we give you "Hot Warmup," a shoot from the summer of '93 inspired by sportiness and accents of neon. All of the outfits were produced by Laura Whitcomb, who took traditional sportwear from companies like Adidas, Puma and Champion, and elevated them to couture. Sadly, Whitcomb's brand no longer exists, but we'd like to think her legacy lives on in the intersection of sportswear and aesthetics.
