Giles Mendel's J. Mendel line did not skimp on luxury this season. Mendel, known for his opulent furs and red carpet worthy gowns, showed pleated dresses and gowns that were young and flirty as well as highbrow skirt suits with soft, natural-looking makeup. However, the best of show was a high neck, long sleeve, completely sheer beaded gown that is worthy of a starring role at someone's occasion. It was also only a matter of time before Mendel introduced some shoulder candy. The designer debuted a line of bags at his show yesterday that included a crocodile number lined with mink and alpaca.
