Fashion Schmashion
Riding high of his recent CFDA win, Joseph Altuzarra showed an immaculate collection yesterday at La Venue. Inspired by "Corto Maltese," the Italian comic strip character from the 1970s (he was a sailor, his mom was his gypsy and his dad was Venetian), the collection featured a mish-mash of inspirations and references, which worked together to recall a perfectly well-rounded globe-trotter: think luxe Eastern European shearlings, Kutch Banjara fabrics, Moroccan rug-patterened dresses, classic sailor garb mixed together with Altuzarra's signature Parisian-inspired frocks.
