Golden Globes Fashion Rights and Wrongs, According to Mr. Mickey

  • JESSICA BIEL: I honestly don’t get her as a movie star but Jessica Biel looked really great in Elie Saab. Loved the dark hair and the dress was covered-up, but sexy -- a trend I like.
  • TILDA SWINTON: When it comes to fashion, Tilda Swinton is in a category all her own. (Admittedly, sometimes Cate Blanchett hits the same heights as Swinton as well.). Swinton looked so chic and regal in her Haider Ackermann dress and jacket that it seemed like she was from outer space.
  • IDRIS ELBA: Elba looked hot in his studded Louboutins.
  • EMMA STONE: Emma always makes the best-dressed list in my book. Her Lanvin gown just looked so "movie star." I always love the rich colors she chooses.
  • ROONEY MARA: This was possibly my favorite dress of the night. Fashion people are cuckoo for Nina Ricci (designed by the super talented Peter Copping) and the dark, glamourpuss-vampire quality of this look was perfect for "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" star.
  • NICOLE KIDMAN: Plastic surgerized ladies are looking a lot more normal these days. Both Kidman and Jessica Lange looked a lot less carved and pulled than usual. It seemed like Kidman's face could actually move for once!
  • NATALIE PORTMAN: My Least favorite trend of the evening had to be hoop skirts. I liked Natalie Portman in her fuschia Lanvin but otherwise wasn’t so into the poufy skirts worn by the likes of Freida Pinto, Andrea Riseborough and Piper Perabo (click along for their photos).
  • FREIDA PINTO: In Prada

  • ANDREA RISEBOROUGH: (Left) in Vivienne Westwood
  • MARY J. BLIGE: My second least favorite trend of the night? Tattooed ladies. Somehow the tattoos on women like Angelina Jolie and Mary J. Blige looked strange and homemade on the red carpet.
  • CHARLIZE THERON: Charlize was the most gorgeous movie star there last night. Her beauty look, including the hair (with a little head band), were major. The dress by Dior was super sexy and she just looked so elegant. As a bonus, she seemed a little boozed up on the red carpet!
  • CLAIRE DANES: She always looks great and makes interesting fashion choices. She just seemed comfortable, chic and powerful in her black and white J Mendel gown.
  • VIOLA DAVIS: She never looked better than she did last night in her Pucci gown. Davis proved that serious actresses can also look amazing on the red carpet.
  • ANGELIA JOLIE: Despite the fact that set against her elegant Atelier Versace dress, Angelina Jolie's forearm tattoo looked like it was done in prison with a ballpoint pen, she was the best she's ever looked last night. And she's always fabulous. Her hair and makeup were also perfect. The only issue I had was that her bare arms were so painfully skinny.
  • SOFIA VERGARA: There were a lot of mermaid silhouettes last night, which didn’t look good on most ladies, but Sofia Vergara looked pretty sex bomb-y in her Vera Wang ensemble. And I loved the straight hair with it.
  • SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR: SMG was pretty much a disaster in her tie-dyed extravaganza by Monique Lhuillier.
  • SALMA HAYEK: Salma was serving up Barbella-style vixen in her Gucci gown. So many boobies (like Madonna’s) were all smashed and uncomfortable looking, but Salma’s hooters looked comfortable and magnificent.
  • REESE WITHERSPOON: I thought Witherspoon looked pretty poo-poo stinky. I didn’t get the messy post-schtupp hair and the Zac Posen dress felt a little too constricting for my tastes.
  • MADONNA: I thought her Reem Acra dress fit weird and smashed her chest. (She’s also had too much face work done, but what's new?) The real problem was she when she talked. We’re supposed to believe she went to see Visconti movies growing up in Bay City, Michigan? Yeah, right.
  • KATE WINSLET: I love Kate Winslet but thought her Jenny Packham gown was dumpy and mother-of-the-bride-y.
  • JANE FONDA AND HELEN MIRREN (slide to follow) were two of the sexiest babes on the red carpet and they’re both glamour grannies. You’re never too old to rock and roll.
  • HELEN MIRREN: In Badgley Mischka
  • AMY POEHLER AND WILL ARNETT: Amy looked super cute. She and Will Arnett made such a sophisticated pair on the red carpet.
  • KYLE RICHARDS: Real Housewife Kyle Richards looked like a mess. That is all.
  • TINA FEY: I love Tina Fey but felt like her hair was a disaster and the dress was wrong for her.
  • JODIE FOSTER: It was fun to see Jodie Foster on the red carpet. She looked fit and fabulous.
