We were already planning on tuning into the Grammys because PAPERMAG is mostly comprised of
ladies who love Cool James, but now we have an even more compelling reason to watch:
Adele! The British chanteuse has been lying low since cancelling a sold-out U.S. tour to undergo vocal cord surgery, but it was announced today that she'll be performing at the February 12th ceremony. We're going to go ahead and assume it's also very likely that she'll be singing her smash-hit "Someone Like You," making all of us cry into our Grammys Party snack platters at home. Speaking of crying to "Someone Like You,"
here's Adele in our 2011 Beautiful People issue talking about breaking down on national television as she sang her ballad to a love-moved-on at last year's Brit Awards: "I was overwhelmed. I felt
embarrassed singing about how upset I was over this guy to four million
people. I also envisioned him sitting at home and watching, feeling smug
and amused about the fact that I'm talking about him." Yeah, but
you're laughing all the way to the bank, now, baby! Welcome back!
