It originally started as a convoluted and cockamamie musical in 1965, however the new production of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever attempts to update the storyline (a woman who has ESP and her reincarnated past life) for a 2011 audience by adding a gay character and a big band diva. We were hoping for a lively musical that skims the issue of gender politics and identity. What we got was something else.
