Performance Artist Gives Birth in Brooklyn Gallery + the High Line's "Haunt Room" = Eight Items or Less

2. "Halloween or Williamsburg?  Sometimes it's hard to tell." You've likely seen this all over the place already, but in the off-chance you haven't, check out this hilarious Tumblr meme. While you're Tumbling, take a look at called "Bed Bug Hotels," tracking an art installation that "places mini hotels where bed bugs have been reported."

3. Adele's unstoppable album, 21, goes back to the top of the charts this week. It has now sold over 4 million copies in the U.S., more than double Lady Gaga's Born This Way. [Billboard]

4. Support photographer Cheryl Dunn's Kickstarter project to complete her "Everybody Street" documentary film on NYC street photographers. Go here to make a pledge.

5. New York artist Rashaad Newsome is hosting a rap joust called "Tournament" featuring emcees dueling it out (with words) in front of a panel of judges.  It's FREE at Marlbourgh Chelsea gallery (545 West 25th Street) on Wednesday, November 2, 6 to 8 p.m. and is a part of PERFORMA 11. Get there early.

6. Be sure to check out artist Sue De Beer's "Haunt Room" in The High Line's 14th Street passage. It's the perfect Halloween treat and it'll be up until December 4 from noon to 6 p.m. Here's more info.

7. Green Day is playing The Studio at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street) tomorrow night, October 27. Of course it's already sold out, but let's see what the tix go for on Craigslist.

8. The Andaz 5th Avenue has a new rotating art series called tbd Art, in which artists paint their "View of New York - Today" on the doors leading to the bar downstairs. Right now you can check out artist M.Dreeland's work, with Mister Cartoon beginning December 12th and Claudia Gold on February 12th. (There's also a "mystery artist" slated for June.)
