Gerlan+Jeans+Backstage+Fall+09+MBFW+LjKS5sEUrcol.jpgGerlan Marcel, Jeremy Scott's former pattern-maker, who launched her own print-abulous fashion line Gerlan Jeans back in 2009, counts Rye Rye, M.I.A., Beyonce and lots and lots of fashion-forward Korean teenagers as rabid fans. She is presenting her new Spring/Summer '12 collection this afternoon, and was kind enough to give us a little preview of the Hot Topic-inspired line.

Tell us about the prints you're showing this season.
I was really inspired by the Hot Topic aesthetic, but it was about taking these ideas to a more refined place, to give them the attention to detail they have long deserved! It's Nickelodeon Goth Mall Witch!

Do you ever get tired of prints and have an urge to do all solids?
Prints and clothing are synonymous to me. I cant imagine one without the other. Let no surface go unprinted!

Can you give us an idea of the soundtrack for the show?
Music and sound are a crucial part of my creative process. It is as important as the prints to me. Music is a catalyst to me in all ways. I start building the soundtrack from day one; it's a vital element needed to tell the complete story. I have been very blessed to have had the opportunity to collaborate with the most incredibly prolific and inspired producers, DJs and sound artists, and this season is another monumental moment and dream come true: Venus X from Ghetto Gothic will be performing audio live!

What will the beauty look be?
Manic Panic is sponsoring hair -- it's time to dye!! This season is all about investigating that moment of discovery every teen girl has when they first start searching for their own unique beauty signature -- (over) plucking your eyebrows, buying your first Wet 'n Wild eyeliner pencil... It's about experimentation and freaking out your parents. Grandma: 'You're such a pretty girl, why do you do that to your face?'
