1. Lil Wayne's new album, The Carter IV, sold 964,000 copies in its first week of release and went straight to the top of the US album chart this week. The Red Hot Chili Peppers' latest, I'm With You, went in at #2. [Billboard]

2. Dante Terrell Smith, aka Mos Def, is changing his name (again) to Yaslin starting January 1, 2012.  "It's time to expand and move on," he explained to Hip-Hop DX. [Via Rolling Stone]

Acclaimed Miami restaurateur Michael Schwartz of Michael's Genuine Food and Drink in the Design District, has taken over the food and beverage duties at the The Raleigh Hotel (1775 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach) ).  No word yet on why John DeLucie departed.  The iconic hotel is currently getting a big up-grade with more suites being added, but will remain open during the changes.
