Hanson Goes to London! Part I

It's been a few months since I've graced the PAPERMAG.com blogosphere, so I am excited to jump back in the saddle at least for a couple weeks. The premise of this new incarnation is that we're here in London doing a series of shows surrounding the new album Shout It Out being released in the UK. After a several-year hiatus from playing gigs in London, we're excited to get it revved back up. The five shows we're playing here are the second installment of our 5of5 five-night concert series, featuring each of our records performed in a row, which was done initially in one of our fave city's last year, NYC. We hit the pavement hard the last week spreading the word -- from random radio stations to TV interviews. And I've been documenting the whole experience with both-high brow Leicas and iPhone apps. To bring things into focus I decided to go with all black and white this week. I hope you enjoy the randomness, and stay tuned for a follow up that is a bit Louder and Brighter.

Love that you came back to this blog. I've always enjoy your pictures especially the scenery/building shots and of course pictures of you taking pictures. Hearing only great things about your London 5 of 5! Keep on rockin' x

This is awesome.Truelly enjoyed reading and totally enjoyed the pics.Can't wait for next story.In the next story can you tell us what kind of things yall are doing with family while there.What sites have you visited.Cannot wait for the next one.Love you guys!

Taylor,
Your pics are making this Canadian homesick for London, where I lived for two years and hope to move back to this summer! I enjoyed the use of B&W, particularly with the pictures in and around Piccadilly Circus/Lillywhites (where I have purchased many a quality running shoe on incredible discount :P ).
Hope you are all having a wonderful time with the 5 of 5, and exploring London with your families. Aren't DK EyeWitness travel books wonderful?

Hi Taylor! First, congrats for this pics, they're amazing! I love pictures in black&white! So I have a question for you. I wonder when will you come to Brazil? You have thousands of fans around here (hopefully you not forgotten) and we are waiting for you! :)
BTW, Londres is really a beautiful place. I have a friend there, and I asked her to take pictures of you, if bump into you somewhere!heheh
Hanson is my favorite band since I was 10. Now I'm a mother and still your fan! =)

I was just in London last week...seeing all those pictures makes me want to go back so bad! If only I had stayed another week I could have been at the 5of5 shows.

You are amazing! Thank you. I have been to all four shows and they have blown me away and the underneath and walk stories brought me to tears as they rung so close to home. I cannot come to the shout it out story and show as I had to get back to my four year old son and back to work, but keep up the good work guys and god bless you all. Jenn chapman, uk Ps. Taylor!!! I have to words to say how gorgeous your pictures are.I have never been to London yet but I am quite near. I live in Ireland and unfortunately I couldn't come over to see one of the shows which made me very sad! I bet you guys are having a blast! There are life and soul in your pictures as well as in your music. Please come back to the UK again sometime soon. Promise next time I'll be there with my Brazilian FLAG!! XD

I`ve been to one of the 5 of 5 gigs. I used to be a massive fan some 14 years ago, and since then I have only followed the band occasionally on internet. BUT, standing there, in the cheering crowd, seeing all those girls (and to my amazement some boy too) singing along and having a blasting time it just hit me why I liked the band so much when i was younger: It`s because they ROCK! there`s no other word capable of translating what these Three men can do on stage. It`s pure and real live music! True talent. Well Done! You`ve got an old fan back.

Don't hide behind black and whites. Your shots are all lined up fairly great, but don't rely on photo effects for a great shot. It's clear you've got an eye for it, just be confident about your shot and don't try to make it more than it is. Great set of pics, enjoyed looking. -A.G.
