I
DJ'd two art shows in the last two weeks... it's nice when I get to do stuff like this, as much as club gigs and big rooms can be fun, these gigs are rad because I get to play a different kind of set and I get to meet new people. I played the
Thrasher X Oakley "Love & Guts" opening in New York. A ton of skaters I grew up watching were there. Lance Mountain was there -- whom I saw him skate on the Bones Brigade tour in '89. He remains a positive voice and all around nice guy in skateboarding. Then there was
"American McGee's Alice" at
Gallery1988 in Los Angeles, a show featuring artwork inspired by McGee's video game of the same name. I hung out with artist
Luke Chueh and Gallery 1988 owner
Jenson Karp that night and DJ'd the show with my best friend
Troublemaker. One of the best weekends EVER!!
