Word of Mouth

Miami-based design duo FriendsWithYou (aka Sam Borkson and Tury Sandoval), are deflating their dazzling, inflatable sculpture garden, Rainbow City, and bringing it to New York this summer! Does Rainbow City ring a bell? PAPER partnered with FWY, alongside AOL, to host our super-fun N*E*R*D concert at Rainbow City during Art Basel Miami last December. (Video below.) Now, in celebration of the opening of section two of the High Line, FWY are setting up Rainbow City at 30th Street and 10th Ave through out the month of June. For our less-FWY-savvy readers who might be asking, 'What's an inflatable sculpture garden?', think of the 'sculptures' as giant, totemic bouncy castles that you can hop around in. Fun! AOL and FWY will also be selling lots of cute FriendsWithYou gear in an on-site pop-up shop as well as hosting a series of free art classes for kids.

If you don't get your FWY fill at the High Line, Kathy Grayson's new incarnation of the Hole gallery will feature FriendsWithYou in its debut at a brand new space located at 312 Bowery. The Hole promises "an interactive, experiential wonderland of pop-straction and participation" and the show will be up from June 9th through August 6th.

FriendsWithYou have come a long way since their days of writing cukoo Miami travel guides for PAPER, and we're pretty excited for all they have going on. Go get 'em, FWY!
