2. James Franco (with Kalup Linzy) is releasing a limited edition 7-inch single called "Turn It Up" b/w "Rising" on July 12. The duo is calling themselves Kalup and Franco and the EP is coming out on DJ/rupture's Dutty Artz record label. [Pitchfork]
3. The 10th Crest Hardware Art Show (558 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn) runs from June 18th to July 31st. The opening day launch party, Crest Fest, will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. on the 18th with live music, DJs, food, drinks and (don't forget) art.
4. Sarah Palin is hoping for a face-to-face meeting with Margaret Thatcher, but an associate of the former British Prime Minister says it ain't happening: "That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts." [Guardian]

6. Special Ed ("I Got It Made") is appearing at Brownsville Brooklyn's Betsy Head Memorial Playground tonight, June 8, at 7 p.m. The FREE show is part of the Summerstage "Salute to Hip-Hop."
