Only something of these gargantuan proportions could get us to report to church bright and early four days in a row. Comme des Garcons certainly has a fetish for displaying their wares in spectacular spaces (evidenced by their flagship store in Tokyo which clearly belongs in the future), so they have chosen the enchanting midtown Croatian Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius for this event that has been years in the making. Starting Friday, bits and pieces from all of their inspiring collections will be waiting in the church for Comme des Garcons pilgrims and old Croatian grandmothers to snatch up at an astounding 70 percent off original prices. And unlike some sample sales that end almost as soon as they start, the stock will be replenished throughout each day AND new arrivals will be dropped from the heavens each night for four glorious days. Hallelujah! Plus, there will be food and drink vendors present and DJs Ansoni and Keiichiro spinning May 6th and 8th.
