Nightlife guru Ben Pundole (Ian Schrager, Morgan's Hotel Group etc.) has re-surfaced in Montauk with Ruschmeyer's, a restaurant and small hotel ("small' as in eight rooms) opening on May 27 at 161 Second House Road. His partner in the newly re-furbished spot is Robert McKinley and the pair are planning other ventures under the name King & Grove Hotels. [East Hampton Star]
2. Artist Ryan McGinness plans to "camp out" in the vitrine behind the reception desk of LA's Standard Hotel (8300 Sunset Boulevard) for three nights starting June 1. He'll be drawing nude models and hosting a pool party behind the hotel where hotel guests can also sketch live models. [LA TImes]
