No one does a clingy and swingy little dress like designer Stephen Burrows. He presented a fun, super-colorful collection last week in a show that featured old-school runway prancing from models decked out in a bevy of bright plaids. Burrows consistently delivers old-school American sportswear and we think think it's nuts that he hasn't already been given a post at a company like Liz Claiborne. Mr. Mickey had a quick chat with Burrows to see what he's up to design-wise and what shows he has on his DVR.
So tell me about the collection you just showed.
It's stripes, checks, plaids , solids and a jacquard all thrown together to create a look
You chose to do a runway show instead of a presentation this year. Why?
We have so many requests to attend when we do a presentation, that when a great venue came available to me I thought it was time to do a show. We wanted to accommodate everyone.
You're the king of color. What do you say to people who wear all-black?
Snap out of it, the sun is out!
Do you watch television? What are you favorite shows?
Yes I do. I watch Bones, the Cape, Criminal Minds -- anything mystery-related. I also watch the National Geographic Channel.
