Word of Mouth

Fashion Week got off to a champagne-filled start last nightat the launch of B Brian Atwood (the shoe designer's new, reasonably-priced shoeline) at West Village restaurant The Lion. The designer, responsible for bringing the likes of KateHudson and Victoria Beckham to colorful, sky-scraper-tall heights, has keptthings fun and beautiful with his new, much more affordable line (the shoes gofor $100-$600, as opposed to the usual $600-$800). As for the crowd, it was apeople-watching visual feast, with lots of fur hats and a "you should know mebecause I am wearing a sequined veil" types. Actual bold-faced names inattendance included model Hilary Rhoda, Tinsley Mortimer, Rose McGowan, Rose McGowan, Rachel Roy, Nate Berkus, HamishBowles and Lorenzo Martone. I questioned my sexuality for a second or two whileawkwardly staring at the stunning Molly Sims (those eyes!) and Rachel Roy (that smile!), while happily humming along as DJs Alexandra Richards and Nick Cohenblasted a little Blondie. I also chit-chatted with the lovely hostess ByrdieBell right before she made an early exit, (making a quick-change before actingclass!), who says that she's not going to go crazy this Fashion Week.  Instead she's focused more on acting call-backsand getting her study on.
