Word of Mouth
Bally's Madison Avenue flagship store was packed to the gills last night for an exclusive Spring 2011 preview party in conjunction with leukemia non-profit DKMS, the world's largest bone marrow donor center. Criminally beautiful models including the towering Hana Soukpova, and the equally stunning Katharina Harf (co-founder of DKMS Americas), donned a selection of luxurious Bally looks, while others such as Hearst Magazines president Michael Clinton arrived in a more casual Patagonia-and0-Ugg look (bold -- I tip my hat to you, Mr. Clinton). My personal favorites for Spring were the bright color-blocked sweaters and strappy wedges, and these pieces in particular were put to the test when PAPERMAG Nightlife award-winning DJ-and-electric-violinist duo Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe rocked out in head-to-toe Bally. After their set, well-groomed gents and women in fur vests with serious handbag game whipped out black cards between glasses of bubbly to snatch up some of the season's offerings, with 20% of all sales going directly to DKMS. Not forgetting their Swiss roots, Bally and DKMS have additionally released a limited edition bracelet with a red goat charm (the official color for leukemia awareness). Proceeds for the bracelet will also directly benefit the charity.
