Snowboarding can seem like one big boys club. It's the guys who win the big contests, get the screen time in the videos and land the sponsorship deals. And the few women who can get a foothold at all are usually pretty, polished and -- to be honest -- kind of boring. There really hasn't been someone ballsy (and we're using that word carefully) enough to show what women's snowboarding is all about. Until now.

Enter Peepshow Films, the filming-riding duo comprised of June Bhongjan and Esthera Preda. After meeting at a snowboard contest in 2008, the two realized that their hearts lay more in filming than competing. So in 2009, after pulling in pros, amateurs and friends alike, Peepshow unleashed their debut online video. "What makes Peepshow beautiful is its authenticity," says Preda. And it's that authenticity they managed to distill in last year's breakout film, Let's Make Better Mistakes Tomorrow, that captured the living, breathing, bleeding side of female snowboarding that rarely makes it through the sponsor-approved filters.

The film, replete with epic spills, on-the-road antics and a hand-picked soundtrack, harks back to the early days of D.I.Y. snowboard films. Indeed, the duo takes a decidedly D.I.Y. approach to their craft. "Peepshow is gritty," Bhongjan says. "We don't have the budget for five-star hotels. We crash our friends' houses and pay them with booze. We cry, sweat and bleed, but we do it together. And in the end we produce something we hope will give you a little taste of what snowboarding is for us.
