On Saturday night, music and fashion lovers united as By Robert James, the New York based 'made in America' menswear line, hosted its first ever fall fashion and CMJ rock show at the Red Bull Space, along with CREEM Magazine. With bands such as Amazing Baby, Starcrossed Signs, U.S. Royalty and Caveman entertaining the well dressed crowd, there was no shortage of sartorial elegance. All over the space, there were mannequins decked out in BRJ tailored shirts and jackets in addition to the line's other signature pieces. All members of the bands were styled by Robert before the show, donning fall/holiday looks from the label -- in stores now -- as they performed. Their verdict: the aesthetic of the clothes fit perfectly with their rock 'n' roll sensibilities. The BRJ holiday lookbook will feature photography from the show, including the stage shots from the gallery above, and was shot by Daeja Fallas. What did we learn? Among other things, there need not be a clear separation of fashion and music. They go hand in hand. And if you missed it, there is always next year!
