"The night I died at Don Hills" was one of many of my Tweets from lastnight's Dazed and Confused fashion week party that I don't really remember tweeting. And I probably wasn't theonly one in the insanely packed sea of downtown familiar faces who had this grim thought while waiting for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "surprise"performance (word of their appearance had sufficiently spread across the Internet by late Monday). Then again, I did hit the open Tequila bar pretty hard. I'm almost positive I remember seeing Kelly Osbourne, Josh Hartnett, and TerryRichardson chatting with Terence Koh in one of his more no-nonsense furryangel outfits (a Karen O/Where the Wild Things Are homage, perhaps?). AndI got in an argument with my friend about whether we saw a Culkin -- it was100% Kieran, not McCauley! But, yes! The Yeah Yeah Yeahsplayed! It was fun and growly and sweaty and all of the things that you hope from the YYYs live. A select few triedto crowd surf, which was excruciating to watch (although not as painful, I suppose, as it was for those unsuccessful surfers dropped on the ground). Later. someone cooled me off by covering me in beer. Although most of the evening is hazy, I clearlyrecall joining in on the madness for the YYY's last two songs, shrieking incorrect lyrics to "Maps" (don't you think the song should be an ode to finger foods and called "Snacks?") as well as "Heads Will Roll." This song was the evening's highlight -- can it get any better than watching Karen O send a packed, biker-jacketed room into a tizzy as she menacingly belts out "Dance, dance, dance 'til you're dead?" As for me, I made it outalive and a Fashion Week detox is in order. Unless you know about anything fun going on tonight...
