Friday 10thSeptember
It's my second day inNew York and I wake up feeling relaxed and refreshed from my day before. I'mconfident now that my jet lag has totally gone, which is good as there is somuch to do! After a breakfast of chocolate chip cookie and grand decaf lattethe models start to arrive. I always love this part. It's when it all comestogether and the clothes begin to come alive! It's so important to get theright model for the right look as it can make or break it and everything has tobe amazing.
Stylist Rebekah Royarrives and it is good to catch up with her and be soothed by her words of wisdom;shortly followed by the beautiful Michelle Lockhart from LaForce + StevensPR who is accompanied by makeupartist Napoleon Perdis, his team and personal trainer in tow! We are very lucky and set up for thehair test, which goes amazingly well, and Napoleon totally understands andcreates the look. We want it to be ethereal, fantastical and beautiful and forthe models to have an almost 'other-worldly' feel to them, taking inspirationfrom the sirens which inspired the collection.
Afterward the model castingcontinues, and we are all so happy when we meet Nana from Muse agency, she isgorgeous and looks amazing in everything. I wish we could clone her and getabout 10. It is a perfect end to a day of casting and we are all feeling thatwe have a lot of great models to start putting in place for the show.
But it's not all overas tonight is 'Fashion's Night Out! It's so exciting and so much is happeningall across the city. Earlier in the day I agreed to do a live TV interviewabout my move to showing in New York, which will be viewed by 98 millionviewers worldwideI It's crazy when I think what I am getting myself into! It isa great opportunity and writing this I have now just started to feel theadrenaline kick in. I have really got to go and get ready, I leave in onehour and I don't know what to wear.
Speak tomorrow.
