The Shop at Andaz Fifth Avenue, a new restaurant in the sleek
Andaz Hotel, across from The New York Public Library. The idea of Andaz is a local meeting spot/farmer's market vibe with a menu that features a "Contributers" section, just like a glossy mag but with foodie purveyors like Katz's Delicatessen, Sullivan Street Bakery, Russ & Daughters, The Pickle Guys and Beekman 1802. The result: yummers. Try the chicken schnitzel Milanese with Hudson Valley greens and lemon or the Schaller & Weber smoked sausage with roast potatoes and whole grain mustard. It's also open for breakfast and dinner too. The design is airy and open, created by Tony Chi to resemble a pre-war apartment. You can also drop by for a snack or a fancy cup of joe -- Andaz is the only hotel in Manhattan to serve
Blue Bottle Coffee, the San Francisco-based organic coffee company that recently opened their first NYC outpost in Williamsburg.
