Fashion Schmashion
Italian actress and muse d'Karl Lagerfeld, Elisa Sednaoui, has been making the rounds at Fashion Week over the past few days, attending Lagerfeld's FIT tribute, DJing Diane von Furstenberg Fashion's Night Our Party and walking in DVF's show on Sunday. Did we mention she's also Christian Louboutin's niece? It doesn't get any chic-er than this, people. Here, Sedanoui tells us all about her action-packed weekend.

Friday, September 10

On Friday morning Karl Lagerfeld, another person who is a greatinspiration to me, received the Fashion Visionary Award by the CoutureCouncil of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology and we were allthere to celebrate him. He does so many things, is always ahead ofeveryone with ideas and aware of the latest things (he will have seenall my pictures and known exactly all I did, I'm always surprised), is soclassically elegant and yet modern and is so generous as well. When DianeKruger stood up to give a little speech about him, she spoke so well, was so simple and honest, and I felt really close to what she wassaying about him, about the incredible knowledge he has, combined withthis sense of humor that cracks you up.  I had tears and had to put mysunglasses on to hide it.

I'malso happy that I got to spend lots of time this week with my dearfriend, someone I consider to be family, Diane von Furstenberg. Sheasked me to DJ at her event at Fashion 's Night Out and it was such aninteresting and fun experience. I realized how difficult it is to DJ!And how thrilling it is to see the people dancing!  I admire DJs fortheir work so I felt honored to have the chance to be the "musical art director" of the evening (as I liked to call myself). And I have tothank my partner in crime, DJ and producer Dorian Besson, for helping meout and making it possible!

I also closed Diane's Spring/Summer 2011show on Sunday and that was a nice moment, being backstage again withthis team that I love. I was once again in the hands of makeup magicianJames Kaliardos whom I adore, Grace Cobb the stylist, and all the restof DVF and Alex de Betak's teams (he is The Man behind the shows, organizingit all from the design to the model exits, the choreography, et.c etc.). I also ran into my beloved friend Arlenis Sosa whom I hadn't seensince we were together in Santo Domingo at a fundraising event that she had organized for her foundation, whicih aims to help children with diabetes. DVF creative director Yvan Mispelaere did such a nice job. I truly felt great in my black Greek goddess dress.

Check back tomorrow for part II of Elisa's Fashion Week journal!
