My all-boys high school had a tradition called "Rumble-vator" that would make underclassmen tremble as soon as the elevator doors slid shut. Unbeknownst to us, a similar tradition must have existed across the park at Rudolf Steiner, from which Zoë Kravitz graduated in 2007. Kravitz, daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, started the band Elevator Fight barely a year ago and instantly landed gigs at South by Southwest and the Roots Picnic. Elevator Fight returns to New York next Tuesday at the Delancey with Canadian indie-soulster Curtis Santiago and Upper East Side compatriots the Madison Avenue Boys.
June 15 at Delancey Lounge, 168 Delancey Street, (212) 254-9920. 7 p.m. $20
