Diego Garcia, the lead singer of the band Elefant, was so taken by meeting model/actress/Jane Birkin-offspring Lou Doillonthat he wrote a song about her. Garcia first ran into Doillon atBeatrice Inn, then saw her again in the garden of the Bowery Hotelwhere she was strumming a guitar. He made up the song "Lou" rightthere. In the Lou video, Garcia plays a rowdy drinking game where you have to swig every time hesings "Lou," which will leave you sloshed in 3 minutes and 15 seconds. "Itwas all very organic," Garcia tells me. "The idea for the video cameafter a few bottles of wine."
