PAPERMAG Premiere: The Pity Party's New Halloween-y Music Video
By Daiana Feuer
Nothing says Halloween like a vampire cupcake attack. Here's the new music video for L.A. band The Pity Party, made up of M and Heisenflei. It's a horror film where The Pity Party's mad science experiments result in their own bloody deaths from a surprise cupcake attack. "The band makes my brain go surreal muppety places," says video director Ariana Natale. The brand new song "Stop, Stand Up, Be Quiet, Be Still" will be on a full length album next year. Heisenfenflei says, "It's about a guy I was dating. Every time he spoke he told a lie. If you could only take someone like that and discipline them, sort of like the way you go through fire drills at school." While she supports a firm hand when it comes to dealing with men, she ensures no harm came to any of the cupcakes involved in this video. She adds, "Regardless of your level of hated or intolerance to cupcakes, you should never exert violent force. Cupcake testing is cruel."
