It is exceedingly clear that Karl Lagerfeld is a person with a penchant for drama, thus naturally, when Lagerfeld made his foray into fragrance, it could not be a simple -- or for that matter single -- scent. Instead, he opted for three at once. Karl Lagerfeld Kapsule, as it's called, is a trio of fragrances, Kapsule Light, Kapsule Floriental and Kapsule Woody. Each was designed by Lagerfeld himself in conjunction with three separate parfumeurs. Mark Buxton helped infuse bitter orange, nutmeg and musk into Kapsule Light; Emilie Coppermann worked to inject ivy, violet and black tea into Kapsule Floriental; while Olivier Cresp gave Kapsule Woody a mossy, plum scent. Each can be worn by boy or girl, because as King Karl asserts, “there is no gender in perfumes anymore.” Buy one -- or all three -- at Neiman Marcus stores nationwide or online.
