Eight Items or Less: "DJ Hero," The Nincompatibles & Eric Clapton's Gallstones
By Gary Pini

1. The new video game "DJ Hero" has its release party tonight, October 27, 6 p.m., at J&R (Park
Row across from City Hall Park) with DMC from Run-DMC, FunkMaster Flex,
Jazzy Joyce and more. Wall Street analysts recently cut their projections for the video game and now estimate first year sales of around one million units.
2. Virtual piano.
3. Don't miss The Nincompatibles! Three great artists -- Brigitte Engler, Walter Robinson and Richard Hell -- are part of a group show at the Bowman/Bloom Gallery (95 E. 7th St.) opening next Wednesday, November 4, 6 to 9 p.m. It's up until December 14.
4. Eric Clapton canceled his performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concert on Friday at Madison Square Garden to "have gallstones removed."
5. On our short-list for the 2009 PAPER Nightlife "Club of the Year" award, (le) Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street) is launching a new monthly party called "Savage Ballet" tonight, October 27. It's free and starts at 7 p.m. DJ Kester from Crooked Disco is spinning dubstep, trip hop, down-tempo and ambient tunes.
6. Artist MK Guth is going to unravel old clothing and fabric and then "sort, stack, sew and weave it together into large ropes and objects." If you want to donate old clothing etc., bring it to One New York Plaza (concourse level empty storefront) from November 10 to December 18. The finished piece, "This Fable Is Intended For You," will be exhibited from January 6 to 24, 2010, in the Courtyard Gallery of the World Financial Center.
