Our friends Hunter Hill, Perry Moore and Allison Sarofim produced an amazing and wonderful documentary that's airing at 7 p.m. tonight on HBO about Maurice Sendak, and it's directed by Spike Jonze. Don't miss this! It's a must-see before seeing Where the Wild Things Are. Sendak is hilarious, brilliant, emotional, and insightful. This made me fall in love with the guy.

This is such an intimate and beautifully structured documentary of Sendak. Jonze has created another quirky, irreverent and poetical portrait. It's short, yet plays at just the right length. I cannot wait for the dvd, which I was fortunate enough to catch a sneak preview. The bonus features are amazing and are just as entertaining and engaging as the featured work.
