Eight Items or Less: Humpday on a Roof, Jell-O in Gowanus & Banh Mi In Union Square

1. On Friday, June 26, Rooftop Films is screening Lynn Shelton's pomosexual romp Humpday on the roof of 350 Grand Street with musical guests The Antlers.

2. The Gowanus Studio Space (119 8th St., Gowanus, 6-10 p.m.) is hosting the first ever Jell-O Mold Competition on Saturday, June 20. "With this competition, we are asking designers to reconsider and explore the properties of Jell-O as both a food and a design medium--to take Jell-O out of the cafeteria and break the mold, as it were, on Jell-O molds." The judging panel includes Jason Miller, Tobias Wong, Jennifer Appel and 2009 Beautiful Person Thu Tran. Jell-O shots will be served.

3. Pink Martini will be debuting material from their forthcoming album (out Oct. 13) this Thursday at Carnegie Hall.

4. Banh mi oh my! Getting in on New York's new obsession with all things Vietnamese Sandwich-related, Union Square noodlery Republic has opened a Vietnamese Sandwich Shop located just inside the restaurant's entry doors.
