Barcelona's premier electronic music festival, SONAR, launches their first foray into NYC with a spin-off called SonarSound on May 12, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Baryshnikov Arts Center (450 W. 37th St.). Artists already scheduled to appear include Prefuse 73, ReacTable, D.A.R.Y.L., Invincible, Beans, Balago and DJ/Rupture. Tickets are free but you must make a reservation here. The event is part of "Catalan Days" which starts tomorrow and runs until May 20 and celebrates arts, food and literature from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. SONAR in Barcelona (June 18, 19 & 20) is one of our favorite annual music/art multimedia festivals and we're sure this NYC mini-version will be fantastic. If you love electronic music, reserve now!
